Glittering Gala Jewels in Monte-Carlo

Prince Albert II and Princess Caroline headed to the Monte-Carlo Casino for the black-tie “Lights of Gaming” Gala, and Caroline brought some interesting jewels with her.

Caroline accessorized her black sequinned gown with dramatic diamond earrings featuring pendants set with pinky-red gems.

The most dramatic jewel from Caroline’s ensemble, however, was her large starfish brooch, which she pinned to the plunging neckline of her gown.

UPDATE: Lovely reader Deb kindly passed along a link to a recent Belperron catalogue, and there’s a near match for Caroline’s starfish on page eleven. Looks like we’ve got a firm ID, and confirmation that this piece is made of diamonds, rock crystal, and gold.
