For the final engagements in Rabat during the official visit to Morocco, Letizia wore a pair of earrings once worn by her mother-in-law, Queen Sofia.

The earrings, part of a suite of jewels gifted to Queen Sofia by the leaders of Saudi Arabia, feature diamond-studded doves holding ruby wreaths in their beaks. For more, I’ll direct you to an earlier post on the earrings, which features closer views.

Letizia wore the same ensemble and jewels for the couple’s official departure at the airport. She’s started wearing the earrings often on diplomatic visits, which is especially fitting, given the peaceful symbolism of their design.
