Our coverage of the wedding of Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston continues with a look at the jewels worn by the many royal guests in attendance.

In case you missed it, we’ve got a lengthy post on Lady Gabriella’s gorgeous bridal jewels over here!

Gabriella’s immediate family was out in force for the wedding, including her parents, her brother and sister-in-law, and her nieces.

Both of Ella’s nieces, Maud Windsor (pictured above) and Isabella Windsor, were bridesmaids at the wedding.

Princess Michael of Kent wore lavender as mother of the bride, including an elaborate beaded necklace, sparkling drop earrings, and an intriguing brooch used as a jacket clasp.

Ella’s sister-in-law, Lady Frederick Windsor (better known as the actress Sophie Winkleman), wore simple pearl earrings for the occasion.

The Duke and Duchess of Kent didn’t attend their niece’s wedding — the Duke is abroad currently — but their children did. Here’s the Earl of St. Andrews, their elder son, who attended with his wife and children. (I don’t have a good photograph of Sylvana to share, but I believe she wore pale pink for the wedding.)

Lady Marina Windsor wore a fun pair of earrings with her floral frock.
While the fashion-mad Lady Amelia Windsor wore a colorful dress and earrings with heart-shaped pendants.

Lady Helen Taylor, daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Kent, attended with her husband and children. She wore two pairs of earrings, including a set of trendy back-to-front pearls, and a delicate necklace.

One of her daughters, Estella Taylor, served as a special attendant in her cousin’s wedding, helping to keep the group of young bridesmaids and pageboys appropriately corralled.

Lots of the Kent family photos from the wedding are unfortunately of the “look behind and squint” variety. Behind the Duke of Edinburgh, you’ll spot Timothy Taylor (Lady Helen’s husband) and Lord Nicholas Windsor (younger son of the Duke of Kent). I didn’t spot Nicholas’s wife, Paola, among the crowd.

Even Princess Alexandra, the bride’s aunt, managed to hide from photographers quite well. She’s the blurry figure in the center of this photo, wearing a teal outfit and pearls. (Over her shoulder are two of Lord St. Andrews’s children, Lord Downpatrick and Lady Amelia Windsor.)

Alexandra attended the wedding with her son, James Ogilvy, and his wife, Julia, who wore pearls. She’s the woman wearing the floral dress and chatting with the Earl of Wessex in this photo. (The Countess of Wessex was not present.)

James and Julia’s daughter, Flora Ogilvy, was also among the guests. She wore a lovely pair of intriguing gold and pearl drop earrings.

On the far right side of this photograph, you’ll spot another of Princess Alexandra’s granddaughters, Zenouska Mowatt. She wore a pair of gold bangles with her red dress.

One of the guests of honor was, of course, the Queen. (She and Gabriella’s father are first cousins.) HM selected one of her late mother’s brooches, the Palm Leaf Brooch, for the wedding. (More about it here!)

The Princess Royal (who was accompanied by her husband, Sir Tim Laurence) wore a much-recycled ensemble for the nuptials, including her pearl and sapphire earrings and her wreath-like gold and sapphire star brooch.

The Duke of York and Princess Beatrice both attended, although Princess Eugenie missed the event, reportedly because she is on holiday. Beatrice wore lovely diamond drop earrings and gold bracelets for the wedding. She was accompanied by her new boyfriend, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Also with Beatrice was Sarah, Duchess of York, who has become quite a fixture at these Windsor family weddings of late. Fergie wore pale pink and diamonds, including a gorgeous bird brooch.

The Duchess of Gloucester was exuberant in her attire, including sapphire and gold jewelry.

Her younger daughter, Lady Rose Gilman, attended with her husband, George. Rose pinned a gorgeous diamond bow brooch to her hat for the occasion.
The always-elegant Lady Sarah Chatto was at the wedding too, wearing her mother’s diamond and pearl earrings and diamond star brooch, plus a necklace of pearls.
Two of the most exciting guests, I’d wager, were a pair of former monarchs: King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece. (Gabriella’s grandmother, Princess Marina, was born a Greek princess.) Anne Marie wore her modern emerald, ruby, and pearl earrings for the wedding.
Royal Wedding Jewels: Lady Gabriella Windsor

Today in Windsor, one of the members of the British royal family, Lady Gabriella Windsor, married Thomas Kingston at St. George’s Chapel. I’m going to present our coverage of the wedding in a couple of posts, starting off with a look at Gabriella’s lovely bridal jewels.

Lady Gabriella arrived for her wedding on the arm of her father, Prince Michael of Kent. He’s a first cousin of the Queen. Notably, Prince Michael is one of the only remaining members of the royal family who can claim royal heritage from both his mother and his father. He’s the second son of Prince George, Duke of Kent (a younger son of King George V and Queen Mary) and Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark. Marina’s mother, interestingly, was a Romanov: Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna of Russia, daughter of Grand Duke and Grand Duchess Vladimir. Elena married into the Greek royal family — which was, of course, originally part of the Danish royal family. Royal links abound in this branch of the Windsor family tree.

For her wedding day, Gabriella (who goes by the nickname “Ella” — I approve!) chose a gown by the designer Luisa Beccaria. The gown features a hint of blush in its color, thanks to the layers of tulle and organdy beneath the lace overlay.

She secured her veil with a sparkling family heirloom: the Kent City of London Fringe Tiara. The tiara was also worn as a bridal diadem by her aunt, Princess Alexandra. Gabriella’s mother, Princess Michael, wore it at the gala reception that followed her civil wedding. (You can learn much more about the tiara’s royal history in our post here!)

Gabriella wore also elegant diamond drop earrings with her wedding ensemble.

And we caught a brief glimpse of her unusual engagement ring (with her new wedding ring placed beside it).

Here’s a look at her hair beneath her veil: lots of curls and braids. A braid was also used to help secure and place her tiara.

We’ll have more on the wedding, including the jewels worn by the (numerous!) royal guests, later today!
