In this heavyweight battle, a tiara commissioned for Queen Mary went up against a sparkler she purchased from the Romanovs. In the end, our overall number one seed was conquered! Though the GGBI brought in 49.11% of the vote, it was the Vladimir Tiara that prevailed, eking out the victory with 50.89%! (The margin was, astonishingly, less than a hundred votes!)

In this match between an established diamond sparkler and a relative newcomer, the margin of victory managed to be even closer! While the Greville put up an amazing fight, capturing 49.41% of the votes, Queen Alexandra’s Kokoshnik won the day with 50.59%! (The difference here, unbelievably, was twenty-six votes!)

Classic design? Check! Multiple settings? Check! Incredible backstory? Definitely check! The Vlad’s a top seed in this tournament for a reason — it checks all the boxes! The Queen’s been wearing it since 1953, and it’s rightfully become one of her signature pieces.

This classic diamond tiara was inspired by a kokoshnik owned by Queen Alexandra’s beloved sister, Empress Marie Feodorovna of Russia. Later worn by Queen Mary, it’s graced the Queen’s head at banquets, premieres, receptions, and galas since 1953!
