There was so much sparkling splendor at this week’s Nobel Prize gala festivities, they needed their own separate review! Don’t forget to vote for your favorites in the poll below!

10. and 9. For the Nobel Peace Prize banquet on Monday in Oslo, Queen Sonja chose a statement necklace with coordinating earrings, while Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore sparkling diamonds on her wrist.

8. For Monday evening’s Nobel gala in Stockholm, Bettina Bernadotte (granddaughter of Prince Wilhelm of Sweden and Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna of Russia) wore a family tiara made of cufflinks that belonged to her great-grandfather, King Gustaf V of Sweden. She’s also wearing two medals (one commemorating King Carl XVI Gustaf’s 70th birthday, the other commemorating his Ruby Jubilee) and a miniature portrait of King Carl XIV Johan of Sweden framed in diamonds.

7. and 6. For the annual King’s Dinner in Stockholm on Tuesday, Princess Sofia wore the all-diamond version of her wedding tiara (more here!), while Crown Princess Victoria selected the Boucheron Laurel Wreath Tiara (more here!).

Nobel Jewels 2018: Princess Christina

Our tour of Monday’s Nobel tiaras wraps up with a surprise attendee: Princess Christina! The palace doesn’t mention her in its official press releases, and she’s recently retired from most public appearances, so it was very exciting to see her at the festivities.

Christina wore a tiara that has been one of her favorites in recent years: the Diamond Six-Button Tiara. (Learn about its interesting history here!)

She paired it with a suite of gold and pearl jewels with gemstone pendants. The color and cut of the stones mean that the pendants are nearly translucent, giving them an especially luminous effect. The set has been in her jewelry box for at least a decade.

She also wore the sash and star of the Order of the Seraphim and her brother’s Royal Family Order.
