This diamond and turquoise dazzler was a wedding gift to Princess Ingeborg of Denmark, wife of Prince Carl of Sweden, from her cousin, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. The convertible tiara can be worn with or without some of its component parts, making it particularly versatile. Ingeborg often loaned the tiara to other family members, including her second daughter, Crown Princess Martha of Norway. After Ingeborg’s death in 1958, the tiara was inherited by her eldest daughter, Princess Margaretha of Denmark. Today, the tiara is worn by Margretha’s granddaughter-in-law, Countess Jutta of Rosenborg.

This petite diamond scroll tiara belonged to Queen Louise, the second wife of King Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden. She fashionably wore the tiara across her forehead in the 1920s. Later in life, she often loaned the small tiara to her husband’s granddaughters: Princess Margaretha, Princess Birgitta, Princess Désirée, and Princess Christina of Sweden. In 1964, the tiara was given to Princess Désirée, likely as a wedding present. She continues to own the tiara today.

This classic diamond floral tiara was made using a brooch that belonged to Queen Alexandrine of Denmark. In the 1960s, Queen Ingrid had the brooch supplemented with additional gemstones to form an eighteenth-birthday-gift tiara for her second daughter, Princess Benedikte. (The brooch is also still detachable.) Benedikte has worn the tiara throughout her life, and she’s also loaned it to her daughters, Princess Alexandra and Princess Nathalie.

Countess Bettina’s Cufflink Tiara
This unusual tiara was reportedly made by repurposing an unexpected set of accessories: cufflinks that belonged to King Gustaf V of Sweden. Today, the tiara is worn by one of Gustaf’s great-granddaughters: Countess Bettina Bernadotte, who is a daughter of Prince Lennart of Sweden (and therefore also a granddaughter of Prince Wilhelm of Sweden and Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna of Russia). Bettina often attends the annual Nobel Prize banquet in Stockholm, offering us an excellent opportunity to see her wear the tiara.

Countess Marianne’s Diamond Tiara
This petite diamond and pearl scroll tiara belongs to Countess Marianne Bernadotte, an aunt of both King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Margrethe II of Denmark. The tiara, which features a fleur-de-lis element at its peak, is reportedly Marianne’s personal property — perhaps from the family of her first husband, Gabriel Tchang. Today, Marianne wears it occasionally for Swedish royal family events, including the wedding of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia in 2015.

This tiara, made in the 1960s by Carlman, was a wedding present given to Princess Birgitta of Sweden by her grandparents, King Gustaf VI Adolf and Queen Louise. The tiara features tiny diamond and pearl flowers set inside pearl circles. The sparkler has been used twice as a bridal diadem: by Birgitte’s daughter, Princess Désirée of Hohenzollern, in 1990, and by her daughter-in-law, Uta König, in 2000. Today, the tiara reportedly belongs to Désirée, who has worn it multiple times at Swedish royal family galas.
