10. On Wednesday, Princess Sofia of Sweden wore her small diamond-encrusted hoop earrings for a merit ceremony at Sophiahemmet College in Stockholm.

9. Queen Mathilde of the Belgians wore a pair of colorful statement earrings during a lunch for the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels on Tuesday.

8. For Thursday’s garden party at Buckingham Palace, Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy wore a three-stranded pearl necklace, pearl cluster earrings, and her six-petaled diamond flower brooch.

7. The newly-engaged Princess Mako of Akishino remained in the spotlight this week as she embarked on an official visit to Bhutan. For Thursday’s official welcome in Paro, Mako wore pearl earrings, a single-stranded pearl necklace, and a small leaf brooch set with a pearl.

6. Queen Maxima of the Netherlands visited Vietnam this week on behalf of the United Nations; for a meeting with the Vietnamese President in Hanoi on Wednesday, she wore her tanzanite earrings with a stack of bracelets. (Close-ups and more jewels from the trip over here!)

5. The Danish crown princely couple made a trip to Sweden this week, where they were hosted by their Swedish counterparts. For a visit to Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen in Stockholm on Monday, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark wore a diamond and gold floral brooch from the firm, pairing it with diamond cluster stud earrings.

2. For Thursday’s garden party at Buckingham Palace, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom wore a large diamond and aquamarine brooch that belonged to her late mother.

1. My collective top vote goes to — you guessed it — the Scandinavian queens, who busted out the gala jewels in Helsinki on Thursday. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark wore the Baden Palmette Tiara; Queen Silvia of Sweden wore the Baden Fringe Tiara; and Queen Sonja of Norway wore the replica of Queen Maud’s Pearl Tiara. More Bracelet Stacks for Maxima in Vietnam

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands is on a three-day visit to Vietnam this week as a part of her role as the United Nations’ Secretary General’s Special Advocate for Financial Inclusion. Here’s a look at some of the accessories she brought along on the trip.

During a discussion about agribusiness on Tuesday in Ho Chi Minh City, Maxima wore a pair of golden leaf earrings with her saffron-colored ensemble.

On her left wrist, she wore a large, lacy golden cuff bracelet — very “formal Wonder Woman.”

And on her right wrist, she continued her recent trend of stacking numerous bracelets together. The man sitting to her left appears to be as skeptical about this as many of us have been lately…

Here’s a closer look. Along with her watch, we can pick out a few of her usual bracelets: her diamond wedding bracelet, the diamond family initial bracelet, the cabochon gemstone bracelet, and the golden family name bracelet.

On Wednesday, the bracelet stack came along for Maxima’s meeting with President Tran Dai Quang at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi.

10. Princess Mako of Akishino, who has gained press attention recently because of her engagement, wore pearls to visit a natural history exhibition in Tokyo on Monday.

9. On Saturday, Queen Mathilde of the Belgians wore some of her trademark gold statement earrings for the semi-finals of the Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition in Brussels.

5. On Friday, Sheikha Mozah of Qatar wore pearls and diamonds to The Hague Institute for Global Justice, where she attended a seminar.

4. Also attending Friday’s seminar in The Hague: Queen Maxima of the Netherlands who wore ribbon brooches and her tanzanite earrings for the occasion.

3. Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom was out and about several times this week, but my favorite brooch outing of the bunch was the annual appearance of the Chelsea Iris Brooch at the Chelsea Flower Show. (More on this outing over here; and here’s more on other jewels she wore this week!)

2. In Luxembourg, the grand ducal ladies busted out the tiaras for a state banquet in honor of the President of Portugal. Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore the Belgian Scroll Tiara with diamond and pearl jewelry, while Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie wore her own Diamond Butterfly Tiara.

1. My collective first place vote goes to three royal ladies from the Netherlands, who put on tiaras for the annual diplomatic corps dinner. Queen Maxima wore the grand Wurttemberg Ornate Pearl Tiara with pearl drop earrings; Princess Beatrix wore the Pearl Button Tiara; and Princess Margriet wore the family’s emerald parure tiara.
