We were incredibly spoiled for choice this week where royal jewels are concerned, but here’s my selection of the very best pieces of the week. Be sure to vote for your favorites in the poll below (and/or add your own list in the comment section)!

10. Queen Letizia of Spain chose her white gold and diamond starburst earrings from Yanes to attend a cultural program for schools in Aviles on Tuesday.

4. In Rome, Princess Viktoria of Bourbon-Parma (wife of King Willem-Alexander’s first cousin, and the Dutch ambassador to the Vatican, Prince Jaime of Bourbon-Parma) wore the base of the Antique Pearl Tiara and the family’s diamond crescent brooch for Tuesday’s state banquet. (More over here!)

3. Even though it was a daytime event, the Duchess of Cambridge made magpies happy by wearing diamond earrings on loan from the Queen at Saturday’s Trooping the Colour parade. (More over here!)

2. Queen Elizabeth II didn’t wear the Imperial State Crown at Wednesday’s State Opening of Parliament, but she did sneak in another piece of the Cullinan Diamond: the Cullinan V stone, worn in its lovely brooch setting. (More over here!)
1. My top vote of the week goes to — you guessed it — Queen Maxima, who wore pieces from the family’s grand Mellerio Ruby Parure at the Italian state banquet. (Much more over here!)

Dutch Visit to Italy: State Banquet Jewels

Tonight’s state dinner in Italy may have been a black tie affair, but leave it to Queen Maxima of the Netherlands to bring us a tiara anyway! Keep reading below for all the details about the grand jewels she wore for the occasion.

For the banquet, Maxima chose pieces from one of her favorite jewelry suites from the family vaults: the Mellerio Ruby Parure. (Read more about the set over here!)

Maxima wore the tiara, earrings, and necklace from the suite with a dramatic one-shoulder red gown.

She also wore the bracelet from the suite.

Maxima wasn’t the only bejeweled member of the Dutch royal family in attendance at the banquet. Prince Jaime of Bourbon-Parma, the son of Princess Irene of the Netherlands, is the country’s ambassador to the Vatican; his wife, Princess Viktoria, wore the base of the Antique Pearl Tiara to the banquet.

Dutch Visit to Italy: Arrival in Rome

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands are on a state visit to Italy this week, and they began their program of engagements in Rome.

The day’s events included a visit to Rome’s City Hall, where they met with Mayor Virginia Raggi.

Maxima wore a pale pink dress from Natan, pairing it with a large picture hat and pink-hued jewels.

This time, the stack of bracelets on her right wrist consists of a bangle that matches her earrings, plus an evil eye bracelet.
