1. The Norwegian royal family hosted a reception full of tiaras on Thursday evening, and they get my collective top vote of the week. Queen Sonja wore the grandest of her jewelry sets, the family’s emeralds, and Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore the family’s amethyst parure. (Read about the emeralds here and the amethysts here!)

Maxima Sparkles in Eemland

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands made a regional visit to Eemland on Tuesday, and Max brought multicolored gems along with her.

The highlight of Maxima’s jewelry for the day was a pair of oversized stud earrings studded with gemstones.
