Sparkling Royal Jewels From Around the World
(Note: This post had to be written earlier than usual this week, and the jewels worn on Thursday will be featured in next week’s roundup.)
9. The Dutch are back from their annual ski trip, and Queen Maxima wore exaggerated jewelry to attend a health care seminar on Monday.
8. Maxima wore gray pearl jewelry, including the family’s lovely gray pearl and diamond stem brooch, to mark the tenth anniversary of a Dutch orchestra on Wednesday. The brooch came into the Dutch collection during the reign of the king’s great-grandmother, Queen Wilhelmina.
7. The Duchess of Cornwall wore her paired clover brooches at a reception at Clarence House on Wednesday for the Women of the World Festival.
6. On Tuesday, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom wore one of her most important heirloom jewels, the Albert Brooch, to mark the 40th anniversary of the Prince’s Trust.

2. At the German state banquet on Tuesday, Queen Mathilde donned her laurel wreath tiara — but as the piece sat much lower on her head than usual, I have a feeling there’s been some sort of change to the frame. She paired the tiara with the white and yellow diamond earrings that were a gift from her husband, King Philippe.

1. The biggest tiara surprise — and my top spot of the week — came courtesy of Princess Astrid of Belgium, who borrowed her mother’s art deco bandeau for the German banquet. To my knowledge, this is the first time she has worn the tiara in public. I love a tiara debut!
10. Princess Charlene of Monaco wore pearl stud earrings to accompany Prince Albert and Prince Jacques to the Sainte Devote Rugby Tournament on Saturday.
9. Queen Letizia of Spain chose glittering starburst-shaped drop earrings for the Rare Diseases World Day Event in Madrid on Thursday.
8. In Belgium, Queen Mathilde also chose what appears to be a lovely pair of drop earrings to visit a military hospital; unfortunately, her hair obscures their full shape/material in every picture I’ve found. Drat!

7. Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway wore a pendant necklace during a visit to Alna on Tuesday.
6. Queen Elizabeth II received credentials from new ambassadors on Wednesday wearing her usual daytime jewelry uniform: pearl and diamond studs, pearl necklace, and brooch. It’s tough to see this one, but I think it might be the Pearl Trefoil.

4. The Bernadottes gathered on Thursday for a service of thanksgiving following the birth of Prince Oscar, the newborn son of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel. Queen Silvia wore earrings and a brooch, while Princess Sofia, expecting her own baby next month, wore a lovely pair of drop earrings. (Pearls, perhaps?)

1. My top vote of the week goes to Crown Princess Mary, who wore her Annikat earrings while in Qatar, The gorgeous earrings are set with large blue topazes bordered by diamonds and sapphires.
