Royal Ascot Jewels 2017 (Day 4)

As the week goes on, the royal crowd at Ascot generally thins, but we’ve still got a few bejeweled royals (and former royals!) to share from today’s races.

The Queen wore a brooch that she’s worn a number of times recently: the Jardine Star Brooch. I absolutely adore this brooch, but I’m a little disappointed that HM and Angela Kelly didn’t bring out a few more unusual pieces for this year’s Ascot lineup.

Both of the York princesses were in attendance. Princess Beatrice, usually completely jewelry-shy, wore something that appears to be either a watch or a bangle on her left wrist!

Here’s another view of her arm that shows the piece a bit better. And yep, also in the picture here…

…is Fergie! Sarah, Duchess of York wore a pair of small hoop earrings with various bracelets and rings for her visit to the Royal Enclosure on Friday. One of the bracelets features the names of her daughters rendered in diamonds.

The younger Yorkie, Princess Eugenie, attended with her boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank. (Still no word on whether an engagement is forthcoming for these two!) Eug wore her usual bracelet and ring combinations with a brightly-printed frock.

10. Queen Letizia of Spain chose her white gold and diamond starburst earrings from Yanes to attend a cultural program for schools in Aviles on Tuesday.

9. Princess Charlene of Monaco wore a striking cross necklace and pearl studs for the 57th annual Monte Carlo TV Festival on Sunday. (Much more over here!)

8. For the first day of engagements during the state visit to Italy, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands wore rose quartz jewels from the family vaults. (Close-ups over here!)

7. For Saturday’s Trooping the Colour festivities, the Duchess of Cornwall donned her twinned diamond clover brooches. (More over here!)

6. The Duchess of Cambridge turned heads at Royal Ascot on Tuesday in the Bahrain Pearl Earrings, which are on loan to her from the Queen. (See an earring close-up over here!)

5. Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom attended Ladies’ Day at Ascot in bright pink, including her round pink cluster brooch. (More over here!)
4. In Rome, Princess Viktoria of Bourbon-Parma (wife of King Willem-Alexander’s first cousin, and the Dutch ambassador to the Vatican, Prince Jaime of Bourbon-Parma) wore the base of the Antique Pearl Tiara and the family’s diamond crescent brooch for Tuesday’s state banquet. (More over here!)

3. Even though it was a daytime event, the Duchess of Cambridge made magpies happy by wearing diamond earrings on loan from the Queen at Saturday’s Trooping the Colour parade. (More over here!)

2. Queen Elizabeth II didn’t wear the Imperial State Crown at Wednesday’s State Opening of Parliament, but she did sneak in another piece of the Cullinan Diamond: the Cullinan V stone, worn in its lovely brooch setting. (More over here!)
1. My top vote of the week goes to — you guessed it — Queen Maxima, who wore pieces from the family’s grand Mellerio Ruby Parure at the Italian state banquet. (Much more over here!)
