The results from week eight of the Tournament of Brooches are in!

Granny’s Chips maintains its dominance! The Cullinan III and IV Brooch claimed an impressive victory, winning 74.48% of your votes, while the Cambridge Emerald Cluster Brooch was chosen by 25.52% of you.

Talk about a close contest — the margin here was razor thin! With more than 4500 votes cast, the Queen Mother’s Aquamarine Art Deco Brooch won with 50.74% of the vote, while Empress Marie Feodorovna’s Sapphire Brooch took 49.26%. The final difference was only 68 votes!

The sapphire had a decisive victory here! Though Queen Alexandra’s Wedding Brooch was favored by 29.23% of you, Prince Albert’s Brooch won the round with 70.77% of the vote.

Brightly colored gems continue to win the day! The Crown Ruby Brooch won with an impressive 70.58% of the vote, while the Courtauld Thomson Scallop-Shell Brooch brought in 29.42%.

In this battle between Canadian brooches, the rare diamond took the prize! Though the Diamond Maple Leaf Brooch took home a very respectable 35.34% of the vote, 64.66% of you chose the Williamson Pink Diamond Brooch to be the winner.

This one was a battle between classic diamond brooches. The Cullinan V Brooch won the day, continuing its impressive tournament record by taking home 73.66% of the vote, while the Jardine Star Brooch was chosen by 26.34% of voters.

A Cullinan has officially been defeated! The Cullinan VI and VIII Brooch brought in 44.91% of the vote, but the Kent Amethyst Brooch triumphed with 55.09%!

Our final contest of the round was a sapphire match-up. Our tournament Cinderella, the Sapphire Jubilee Snowflake Brooch, brought in an impressive 47.05% of your votes, but the Russian Sapphire Cluster Brooch took home the victory in this round with 52.95%.
And there’s your Sweet Sixteen tournament results! A quick note: before we jump into the Elite Eight voting, however, we’re going to take a three-week tournament break to make room for a couple of fun features. Brooch voting will resume directly afterward!
