A model displays a magnificent diamond and pearl pendant necklace, made in Cartier in 1908, before its sale at Christie’s in 2004; the necklace was a gift to heiress Doris Duke from her father, James Buchanan Duke, who also supplied some of the diamonds for the piece’s creation; the necklace fetched $2.35 million at auction
