Attention London magpies — and anyone who will happen to be in that vicinity next month!
The Victoria and Albert Museum — AKA my personal jewelry mecca — is hosting an event that may be of interest to some of you. “Love and Desire in Gems and Jewels,” a study day event all about jewelry, is being held at the V&A on Saturday, January 20. My friends at the V&A reached out to share more information about the event with me, and I wanted to pass it along to all of you.
The program sounds fantastic: “Join jewellery historians, artists and curators for a day celebrating the incredible stories behind some of the most precious gems and jewels in the world. Over the course of the day, speakers will offer fascinating insights into subjects such as jewels as a metaphor for love, passion and eternity, jewellery in Hollywood cinema and the use forensic science in famous jewellery heists.”
I’m so sad that I won’t be in London to attend myself, but I hope some of the rest of you might be able to enjoy a wonderful day of jewels at the V&A. Tickets for the event cost £50, and you can find more information on their website here. If any of you decide to go, please let me know — I’d love to live vicariously through you!
