The second day of the Spanish visit to the United Kingdom ended with a sparkling splash: a glittering banquet at the Guildhall in London. Here’s a look at the tiaras and jewels on display.

Queen Letizia wore one of her favorite tiaras: the diamond floral tiara that belongs to her mother-in-law, Queen Sofia. The piece has a lengthy history in the Spanish royal family; I’ll direct you over here for more!

Letizia paired the tiara with an enormous pair of diamond earrings studded with dark, faceted sapphires. The modern earrings were an interesting choice to wear with the delicate, romantic floral tiara — I’m not sure I would have worn them together.

Letizia also stacked both of the matched diamond bracelets from the joyas de pasar on her left wrist. (Read all about the joyas de pasar collection over here!)

She secured the sash of the Order of Charles III with the diamond fleur-de-lis brooch that comes from her own tiara. (More on that piece over here!)

Felipe and Letizia were greeted at the Guildhall by the Lord Mayor of London, Andrew Parmley, and his wife, Wendy. (She’s the other woman wearing a tiara in the picture at the top of the post.) The Princess Royal was also on hand to help host the Spanish royals at the banquet.

Anne wore her diamond festoon tiara, a present received when she christened a ship in the ’70s. (More on the tiara over here!)

She paired it with more diamond jewels, including her diamond festoon and ribbon necklace and its matching earrings. (More on the necklace over here!)

She secured the sash of the Order of the Garter with her diamond ribbon and tassel brooch.

Anne also wore an additional star pinned to her gown. This is the Order of Isabella the Catholic, which Anne received for playing a major part in this state visit. The Duke of York and Prince Harry also received the order. (That was the second star pinned to Harry’s jacket last night — I know some were wondering about that).
