7. The newly-engaged Princess Mako of Akishino remained in the spotlight this week as she embarked on an official visit to Bhutan. For Thursday’s official welcome in Paro, Mako wore pearl earrings, a single-stranded pearl necklace, and a small leaf brooch set with a pearl.

5. The Danish crown princely couple made a trip to Sweden this week, where they were hosted by their Swedish counterparts. For a visit to Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen in Stockholm on Monday, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark wore a diamond and gold floral brooch from the firm, pairing it with diamond cluster stud earrings.

1. My collective top vote goes to — you guessed it — the Scandinavian queens, who busted out the gala jewels in Helsinki on Thursday. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark wore the Baden Palmette Tiara; Queen Silvia of Sweden wore the Baden Fringe Tiara; and Queen Sonja of Norway wore the replica of Queen Maud’s Pearl Tiara.
